- Today many TV shows and advertisements try to look amateurish or "homegrown" to emulate what is often seen on the Web. Do you think professional production values will continue to drop, or do you think amateur user-generated content will get better over time? WHY??
I do not think professional production will continue to drop for I feel that with the higher advances in technology, the public will want that professional quality. With that said I also believe that user-generated content will get better over-time due to these advances. In the future both of these will mesh into one user-generated/professional media. For example, some people that create media on sites like you-tube have a very professional quality to their work yet it is still “homegrown”.
2. What social media sites do you find yourself using the most, and why? In your opinion why is Facebook so much more successful than MySpace, and do you think Facebook is "here to stay" for the long term.
I only use one social media site, and that site is Facebook. I feel that Facebook is more successful in social networking from person to person because it has more security where u can stop people from looking at certain things, yet it still has that public quality that MySpace has. Yet, MySpace is still successful in its own rights with it being a large site for talent like actors/actresses and bands and musicians. I feel that Facebook itself may be here to stay because it is constantly growing and adapting to changes in the world, soon I feel that Facebook may even become the “one-stop shop” website where everything that u like could be found on Facebook where either a click of a mouse will bring you to your favorite sites or Facebook would be directly connected to other popular site like Google, AOL, or Yahoo.
- Why is transparency such an important concept in the Social Media world? Is it MORE or LESS important in the offline world? Why?
